James M. & Fanny Eure
Our Pastor
James M. Eure, Jr. and Fanny Alsop Eure

(rhymes with sure), were married August 10,

1968. We have five children and eight

grandchildren and live on a farm in Spotsylvania,

Virginia, not far from the Mine Road Baptist

Church.
I served with the army in Korea. When this term of service was

satisfied I returned to Virginia, where I was employed by several

insurance companies in the capacity of a salesman, and later in a supervisory

position.
I have been a Christian for 32 years, performed the duties of a deacon

for 16 years, chairman of deacons for five years and a youth group leader for

several of those years.
God touched my heart, in March 1993, leading me to enter the ministry of

the Gospel. As I prepared myself for this calling, I enrolled in the

Fredericksburg Bible Institute and Seminary. For about five years I preached

as a lay-person in many area churches. I was ordained to be a minister of the

Gospel by the Goshen Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, Virginia, in June, 1998.

In July 1998, Mine Road Baptist Church members, at a business meeting,

called me to serve as Pastor to begin service on August 2, 1998.
Will you come and worship with me? My one desire is to love you to

Heaven instead of preaching  you to Hell.
